Vegas
While Jamie gets to play in Vegas for the week, I get to take care of a teething baby. Joys. Somehow my view doesn’t look as great.
Hunting Island State Park
We took a day trip to Hunting Island State Park in South Carolina. The park is right above Hilton Head and below Beaufort. Only an hour and a half drive. It has a wonderful beach, light house you can walk up to the top to, walking trails and so much more! Olivia loved the water. She hadn’t been to the ocean since last years family beach week so I’m sure she did not remember it.
Blueberry Festival
Had so much fun at the Blueberry Festival in Jamie’s hometown. They had hundred of venders, food, live music… it was so much fun!
6 years <3
Jamie planned an amazing getaway for our 6 year anniversary. We traveled only an hour north for an overnight stay in Beaufort, SC. My parents came and watched little O for our first overnight stay away from her.
It was storming when we arrived but the rain cleared while we explored downtown and then the sun was out for the rest of our stay.
Of course I had to get Olivia a little gift while we were away.
We stayed at the Rhett House Inn where Forest Gump was filmed. It is a beautiful B&B with an amazing staff. We stayed in room #1 on the main floor that had a beautiful gay window that overlooked the garden.
We were greeted with Champs to start our stay!
The grounds of the Rhett House Inn are beautiful. We played croquet and badminton in the afternoon. For dinner, we headed to the waterfront and enjoyed our meal on the patio of the Saltus River Grill. We shared a Gnocchi app, I had a filet and Jamie had Sea Scallops with risotto.
After dinner, we enjoyed a stroll along the Chambers Waterfront Park. Many swings line the waterfront. You can get great views of the Beaufort River, the Woods Memorial Bridge, the western tip of Lady’s Island, the eastern side of Port Royal Island, and the northern tip of Parris Island.
The Rhett House Inn offers complimentary, homemade desserts in the evening. We sampled all four that were offered. So yummy! Jamie said the apple pie was the best he had ever had.
We had complimentary breakfast on the front porch. I had french toast and Jamie had the blueberry pancakes.
After breakfast, we explored downtown on the beach cruisers provided by the inn. I love seeing South Carolina’s second-oldest city and its wonderful historic downtown district. The homes and landscaping are amazing. Before departing, we took a dip in the pool at the Sanctuary Golf Club where the Rhett House Inn guests have full access. Soaked up some rays and then headed back home.
These past 6 years have been amazing. Jamie, you have given me the most precious gift I could have ever asked for, our beautiful daughter Olivia Rose. I love you to the moon and back and can’t wait to grow old with you. No one but you could put up with me this long!
Opa, Nana & Elke
My mom picked Olivia and I up and we drove down to Florida for the weekend. It was great to see Opa and Nana. An added bonus was that my tanta Elke was in town all the way from Washington. It was Livie’s first time getting to meet her which was special. She wasn’t sure about her at first but she warmed up really fast once Elke offered her some food. Such a little stinker!
Weekend Pause
Little Olivia Rise has to have a procedure done on Monday back home in North Carolina. Thankfully we are staying with my parents but it is going to be a long weekend of me overly worrying. We do get to go watch a UNC basketball scrimmage and a football game which takes my mind off things. Needless to say, we pushed the pause button on our home reno for the weekend. I will be back on Tuesday and will catch up on the days I missed for the 31 Day Challenge. I will basically blast your feed as I play catch up. Hopefully the procedure goes well and we will be right back to working on our home.
Thank you for understanding,
Katie

Weekend Shenanigans
Little Livie got to enjoy her first UNC tailgate experience on Saturday. We used to have season tickets for a few years before we moved away so it was exciting going home for a game. We really needed to put to good use our UNC tent, tables, chairs and other tailgating equipment this year. Jamie was so excited to take her back to his old campus. He went not only for undergrad but also for his Master at the University of North Carolina. So when I say ‘he bleeds Carolina blue…’ I mean he BLEEDS it! It will always be in his blood. Jamie’s parents and sister Mika drove up for the game and my parents also went. It was a noon game so Olivia and I had to go home after she got to experience a UNC tailgate. She got to meet the real Rameses, a Horned Dorset Sheep and the cheerleading Mascot at the new Victory Walk. It was sad not seeing the Old Well Walk but I kinda of liked the idea that the first year the school is starting new traditions was the first year for Olivia to join in on the festivities. We had the opportunity to make new traditions with her. Jamie and his dad cooked (GIANT) steaks and BBQ chicken on the grill. We had rosemary potatoes that were so yummy and other fixins. I am so glad that Jamie got to share a very important tradition with Olivia and show her around a place that he loves now that we live almost 400 miles away. When everyone went to the game, Olivia and I got to cheer on the team from my parents house. We even got to see Daddy on TV in the stands!

Can you believe it’s September already? It has been so hot here in Georgia. It’s hotter than it was during the middle of the summer. These Vineyard Vine Whale koozies are just so adorbs for the beach. I need them since it is still beach weather here…

Just received this trunk organizer. I have seen so many trunk organizers that are just basic cubes to put things in. This one has a cooler in the middle. The cooler can be removed if you don’t need it and the whole thing is fully collapsible. I saw the exact same one on One Kings Lane for $59!!! I got mine on Amazon for only $19.99 + free 2 day shipping with Prime!
